Hello, I'm back. Today I have yet another painting to share. I've been on a role making paintings lately, working on three new one's at once. Hard work, but lots of fun! The painting I wanted to share with you today is from a story I wrote several years back. It's a fantasy adventure story, taking place in a medieval European type of setting, but from a different world. The painting shows a boy, maybe in his early teens 13 or 14 years, battling giant evil spiders sent to destroy the kingdom he is from. It's a darker piece than I usually make, but my stories tend to be written that way. I gave the painting somewhat of a faded look on purpose. The green grass, castle and shirt the boy has on are all different shades of each of the colors I used for each area. Also, none of the spiders are exactly the same as far as coloring goes. I wanted to give them some variety. And finally, there are some objects I did not outline. Mainly, the rocks on the ground, but I also didn't outline the castle or background trees or the burning cottage. Everything else is outlined.
Again, I used acrylic paint on an 11 x 14 canvas. Here is the painting.

Hello, Lord Leebot here again, aka Justin. This evening I would like to do something a little different. Instead of posting artwork, I felt like posting a short story. I will be doing this from time to time, but this blog will be mostly for my art. So here is the story.
A Trim By Justin Gilroy
"Trim my nails!" roared the troll, angrily. The tiny elf ran to and fro on the large wooden table nervously. "Yes, yes. Will, will," he stammered, "Oh dear! How ever shall I cut the claws? Oh, dear!" The troll slammed it's huge clawed hands down on the table, the sharp finger nails narrowly missing the elves face by mere inches. "Whoa! Careful, big guy!" cried the tiny elf. "If you hurt me, I cannot help you." The troll snorted. "I don't have all day..." it said, impatiently. "In preciously one hours time, my brothers and I are scheduled for a luncheon. I am very hungry and haven't eaten yet today! I must be presentable."
The tiny elf gagged at the smell of the troll's breath. "Presentable indeed," he sighed, between gasps. The troll glared down at the tiny elf. "You know," he growled, "I could swallow you in one gulp, elf. But I'm a kind hearted troll, so I'll give you one more chance. Trim away." The tiny elf pulled out his trimmers and snorted himself. "If you say so, ogre," he muttered under his breath.
"What was that?!" snarled the troll. "N-nothing, s-sir," the elf replied nervously. The troll roared and pounded the table. It broke in half as wood chips flew in all directions. "Nooo!" screamed the elf, tumbling to the floor. He landed hard. He didn't have time to react before his tiny body was engulfed by the giant hairy fingers of the troll. He felt himself being lifted higher and higher into the air.
The trolls fingers were wrapped tightly around his tiny frame, and he found it hard to breath. "Help...," he whispered. That was all that would come out of his lips. Moments later, the tiny elf saw the trolls massive mouth wide open, fangs exposed. Lots of drool dripped from the troll's mouth. Some splashed the elf. Then the poor elf passed out.
The troll licked his lips and fingers happily. "A delightful snack," he grunted. Tummy happy now." It burped, then turned and exited the grooming parlor.

Keep Portland Weird
Hello, Lord Leebot back again. I want to share another painting, this time one that is a little weirder. It is titled, "Keep Portland Weird," as Portland Oregon is the city I live in. I tried to paint the
letters like the keep Portland weird mural which is on W Burnside street in downtown Portland. The colors are wrong, but oh well, it's art. As for the pictures themselves, my main character Baba from the comic strip, "Baba's World," is holding an umbrella (A rather un Portland thing to do) as rain falls on him. Bree, the other main character in the strip is sitting on a bicycle that looks very simple and rather old fashion as it has no petals. Bree himself, having no arms, and just legs, holds onto one handle with one hand which is at the end of his leg. Weird I know. The other leg/foot is sitting on the red bicycle seat. Truly a weird painting. One last note. The characters from the strip live in Portland, Oregon. Here is the painting.

Hello, Lord Leebot back again. I want to share another painting from my comic strip, "Baba's World." This time, it's of the main character, Baba, dressed up like Link from the legend of Zelda. I used acrylic paint on a canvas board again. I really like this painting because the colors are so vibrant and the picture is fun. The character Baba is a cyclops with only one ear on the right side of his head from the viewers perspective. He is wearing a green shirt and brown boots. Because his legs are so short, they are unseen. Baba wears a green triangle cap to match his shirt, and his collar is a different shade of green. In his left hand he holds a recovery heart, and in his right he holds a shiny blue rupie. He also has a sword and shield strapped to his back. The viewer can see the front of the strap around his torso. He is the painting.

Gerbera Daisy
Hello. Lord Leebot back again for another post. Today I want to share a painting I just finished 2 days ago titled, "Gerbera Daisy." It is simply that. A Gerbera Daisy. The canvas is only 8 x 10 again, and yes I will be doing larger paintings in the future when I get bigger canvases. The Gerbera Daisy painting only shows about one quarter of the flower itself, as it is a close up. I again used acrylic on canvas board. The flowers petals are a pinkish color, with a hint of orange and white. The center is a combination of brown and yellow blotches with some other colors thrown in. The back ground is also bright aqua green.
Also, a side note, I just sold a painting of a sunflower for $20. It was the first painting I've sold in about 5 years.
Here is a photo of the Gerbera Daisy painting.

Hello, Lord Leebot back again for another post. I know it's been a while, but my computer was down. It's up and running again, thank the maker! Today I decided to post more serious painting, but that doesn't mean I'll stop posting my cartoon paintings. I'll just post both. Today's painting is of a single bird sitting on a tree branch. All you can really see is the silhouette of the bird. The only real color is yellow and orange shades of the setting sun. Everything in the fore ground is black, showing that it is evening. There's not much else to say about this painting, other than the fact that I used acrylic paint as usual and painted on a canvas 8 x 10 cardboard panel. The title of the piece is "Evening Bird." I completed it on July 20, 2015. Also, I only signed it with my first name, Justin, something I'll have to change later. Here is the painting.

the statesman
Hello, Lord Leebot here again. With Presidents dat approaching, I thought I would post another painting titled, "The statesman." I would describe this piece as a cyclops version of Abraham Lincoln with a red beard. No disrespect intended, nor do I intend to use it as a political statement. Here is a picture of the painting.
