A look at my art
Hello, Lord Leebot here, aka Justin Gilroy. I am a painter who enjoys creating colorful works of art on canvas using acrylic paint. I work independently on my paintings, doing about one or two a month. I prefer working with smaller canvases. They are cheaper and easier to move. I do have a few bigger pieces, but most of my pieces are on 8 inch x 10 inch canvas board. I mainly paint the characters from my comic strip called "Baba's World," a strip I created in late 2004. In have hundreds of comic strips as well as my paintings. More comics than paintings. Drawing is my second passion. I also enjoy writing. I have written many short stories, and I have many more unfinished stories. I also wrote a 350 plus page book, unpublished.
I live life with high functioning autism. Art and painting runs in my family. My grandfather, James Parten, was an oil painter. He used a pallet knife to paint with. For a while, some of his paintings were hanging in the Oregon State Capital. I'm not sure if they are still hanging there. Also, I have a cousin who works at Saturday Market in downtown Portland, Oregon. She sells her paintings there and her work is pretty known around town. Finally, My father, John Gilroy tried his hand at cartooning, but never got accepted by syndicates.
The painting at the top on it's side is titled, "Leebot and sock." The one below is titled, "Manuel the smoking duck." These are just a few examples of my paintings.
